Her supporters will tell you it felt like a long time coming, but history was finally made when Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson was confirmed to the highest court in the land by a bipartisan group of senators.
Judge Jackson received praise for how well she handled herself for what at times looked like a series of uncalled and hostile attacks during the confirmation hearings.
Composed and calm she had to defend past sentences that were criticized as being too lenient on child pornography. At one point Senator Lindsey Graham was told to calm down in so many words…in order to allow her to speak.
Liane Jackson who’s the Assistant Managing Editor with the American Bar Association says those hard stances by Republicans may not be entirely sincere.
“The truth of the matter is, politics have reached the Supreme Court,” she said. It’s not so much about a candidate as it is an opportunity for congressmen to speak to their base,” said Jackson.
No surprise Fox News Host Tucker Carlson had his own bitter would be take down.
He actually criticized Judge Jackson for not being black enough.
“I have to say, her views really seem like those of every affluent white liberal I’ve ever met,” Carlson said.
He went on to say,
“If you want a Black candidate ― I’m serious! I think the country would get better representation from, you know. She’s just a carbon copy of everyone in the neighborhood I spent my life in,” he added.
He went on to demand to see her law school admission test scores.
Black women everywhere agreed. There has always been a double standard. Saying they must always be a step ahead.
