Florida is known for a couple of things for sure sunshine and amazing beaches. While Daytona and Miami maybe the first to come to mind when you think of the orange state’s best place to catch a few waves there’s another not so popular beach that you need to make a priority for your next Florida beach vacation.
Honeymoon Island state park. Located on the west coast of Florida it’s just a short drive from Tampa. Honeymoon Island offers a beautiful view of the waves with crystal clear water. Oh, and if you collect shells, you’re in luck. You won’t go home empty handed, but that also means we wouldn’t recommend going into the surf with your bare feet.
Those who frequent Honeymoon Island say if you love the water no doubt you’ll enjoy this spot, but it isn’t called Honeymoon Island for nothing. You don’t have to look too far for secluded locations that make you feel as if you’re on a private island. Need a couple’s getaway, then this is your spot!
Still not convinced? There’s a good chance you could spot a dolphin, and did we mention the sunsets.
According to Cecelia Jones Yopp, who’s a fan of Honeymoon Beach, one word sums them up.
“Spectacular. So very romantic,” she said.
